Mission:

Own it Nutrition empowers you to take knowledgeable action towards peak health and fitness through simple nutrition strategies.

Our Philosophy:

Learn it, Live it, Own it

Learn it. At Own It Nutrition, we believe in empowering athletes and active individuals with education to make healthy choices. With the guidance of a registered dietitian, you will learn how to use nutrition to support long-term health and achieve your athletic goals.

Live it. like all skills, nutrition takes practice. Your dietitian will coach you along the way, providing education, customized meal plans, recipes, and more to help you perform your best.

Own it. A proper nutrition plan can enhance workouts, prevent injury, boost your immune system, improve focus, and elevate your fitness. For athletes, it can separate the good from the great. For everyone, it sets supports a lifetime of good health. It’s your health and fitness — Own it.

Meet the Dietitian

Makayla Meixner, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

Makayla is a dietitian based out of Vail, CO. Her expertise in nutrition combined with a profound passion for teaching and winter sports led her to develop Own it Nutrition – a  practice devoted to helping people achieve their ultimate health and fitness goals through simple, evidence-based nutrition strategies.

Growing up in Wisconsin, snowboarding has always been a huge part of Makayla’s life. She learned how to snowboard at the age of 11 on a 300 vertical foot “mountain” of hard-packed snow (or ice). Like most Midwestern snowboarders, she fell in love with the park. Most of her weekends were spent competing in USASA slopestyle and halfpipe competitions. Although she no longer competes, you can still find her on the mountain either riding or coaching the next generation of snowboarders every chance she gets.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin -Madison in 2014, she packed up her little car and headed off to the Rocky Mountains to continue to pursue her passions in snowboarding and nutrition. With dedicated guidance, she now helps individuals take their health and fitness to the next level nationwide.
